Low dose aspirin helps reduce blood stickiness, the tendency of blood to clot. Cartia is used to help protect against some of the problems which can be caused by clotting in the blood stream. Cartia may be useful if you are at risk of coronary artery disease, angina, transient ischaemic attacks (TIAs or mini strokes), stroke (due to a blood clot) or heart attack. Cartia contains 100mg of aspirin and has a special Duentric coating. Experts recommend low dose aspirin as it keeps the blood from clotting and doing so reduces the risk of heart attack or stroke. The aspirin in Cartia is released in the upper intestine where it is absorbed gradually into the bloodstream. This slow absorption is believed to be necessary to maximise the anti-clotting effect. If you are at risk of having a heart attack or stroke, or someone close to you is, you may have been told about the benefits of taking a daily, low dose aspirin. This is because low dose aspirin helps thin the blood, and helps lower the risk of heart attack or stroke.
Uncoated aspirin starts to break down in the stomach and may cause irritation to the stomach lining.
Cartia® low dose aspirin has a special Duentric® coating designed to prevent it from being released in the stomach, so that it is released lower in the intestine. By releasing aspirin lower in the intestine, Cartia® helps to minimise irritation to the stomach lining.

Active Ingredients:
Aspirin 100mg, with an enteric coating
Dosage:
One tablet daily. Take with food. Swallow whole with a glass of water.
Warnings:
